Hello
and welcome to my teddy bear nails post. I saw the amazing Tina from @tina_tech post this nail design a long while ago and I knew I had to re-create them ever since. I was worried at first, thinking that my skills are not good enough. Now, I know that her nails turned out way better than mine, but I’m truly happy with how mine turned out. If you’d like to know how I did these, just keep on reading.
Apply a base coat of your choosing in the beginning to protect your nails and make the polish last longer. I am using the ‘Nail Repair’ polish from PRO-FX. Then, take a pinky/peachy shade like ‘Get Juiced’ from Sally Hansen and apply two coats onto all of your nails.
As soon as your nails are completely dry, take a make up sponge and a orange shade and do a gradient. Apply a small amount of polish onto the sponge and dap it onto the tips of your nails slightly. Start with a small amount of polish and build your gradient up, coat after coat.
To make the gradient smoother and also to add a special effect, take a top coat that has either glitter or holo chunks in them. The polish I use here is so old it doesn’t have a label anymore, sorry.
For the bear shape, take a silver polish or if you don’t have one, use acrylic paint. I have silver polishes but decided to try this out with acrylic paint. Take a small brush and create bear-head shapes all over your nails. You can position them the same on every nail or you can mix it up like I did.
With a white polish or acrylic paint and a thin brush, go ahead and create a oval area into the bear.
Take a black polish or acrylic paint and a thin brush to create the eyes. You could also use a dotting tool if you’d prefer.
Trace the outline of the bears with the black polish or paint you just used.
With the same black polish or paint and the same brush, go ahead and make little lines along the outskirt of the bear. This will give it the nice teddy bear effect. The thinner you can make the lines the better it will look in the end. When I do these nails the next time, I will definitely try to use a thinner brush.
Using the same polish or paint and brush, draw a nose into the oval white shape that you created earlier. Try to make the nose in a slight triangle shape.
Take the white polish or paint again and make an ever smaller triangle shape into the black shape for the nose.
Go over all of your nails with you favourite top coat to seal in the design so it will last longer. It also gives your nails a nice shine.
If you prefer to have them matte instead of shiny, go over your nails with a matte top coat. I am using the ‘Matte Top Coat’ by Sally Hansen.
Thank you so much for reading my teddy bear nails post and don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss a post of mine! I hope you have a wonderful week filled with lots of sunshine and confidence.
