Aloha cuties 🙂
How is your Monday going so far? Today I have cupcake nails for you guys!!
Week 3 of the Weekly Nail Art Challenge is “Inspired By” and since there are sooooo many talented people out there it wasn’t easy to choose. After scrolling through Instagram for like half an hour I decided to go with a design form the amazingly talented Nail Tech/Artist trendypolish!! Never heard of her? Well then you better click on that link because boy, you’re missing out!!
I decided to try out this adorable Cupcake Mani she did about a week ago. Now if you ever clicked on my “Recipe” tap on my blog you will see that Cupcakes are by far my favourite dessert 🙂 They are just too yummy and I find them very cute!! You can find the polishes I used at the bottom of the blog post. Alright enough chit chat let’s get to the cupcake nail tutorial:
Paint your thumb and ring finger in a sparkly blue. Now the original design is pink but I decided to make it in blue, obviously you can use whichever colour you’d like 🙂 Paint your index and pinkie finger a dark blue and your middle finger just the lower part of your nail.
Paint a second colour onto your index and pinkie finger and
while the polish is still wet, place studs on your nails and press them on.
I used the Sally Hansen i <3 Nail Art Studs Kit.
Take a light blue polish and a small brush to make the lines on the middle finger. Then take a dotting tool and white polish and dap 5 dots onto the nail. With a small brush make the top of the cupcake by connecting the two outer dots and make sure not to cover the whole nail!
Then take a small brush and black polish to make two parallel lines for the eyes and a curved line for the mouth. To make the bow, take the dark blue from your index and pinkie finger and make two connecting triangles. For the cheeks take a peachy colour and a dotting tool and just dap two dots next to the smiley face. Then take the sparkly blue colour and dap a dot into the middle of the bow.
This is how it should look now:
Now all you have to do is use a topcoat to make your design last for a long time 🙂
Polished used:
Sparkly Blue: ANNY – highway to heaven
Dark Blue: Essie – butler please
Light Blue: Sally Hansen – Breezy Blue
White: PURE ICE – Superstar!
Black: Sally Hansen – Night Fright
Peach: Sally Hansen – Floaties
Topcoat: PRO-FX – Quick Dry
I hope you like this design and don’t forget to follow me on social media 🙂
xoxo
Cindy
