Hello you!
Hope you are having a fabulous day so far. I also hope that you are ready for my red white and blue square spiral nails that I’m about to show you. The colour combination for these nails were inspired by one of my bath towels. Really interesting right? No it’s not but this is a good way to show you that inspiration can come from literally anywhere. Keep on reading if you’d like to know how I did these nails.
First off, you have to paint your nails with a red base colour. There are a thousand different shades of red so you can pick which ever one you like best. Look at the end of this blog post for a list of all my polishes that I have used for this design. Make sure the base is opaque, you might need more than one coat to achieve that, depending on the polish.
Because we are going to use vinyls next, apply a top coat onto the nails. Take square spiral vinyls, I got mine from ‘What’s Up Nails’ but you can use any company of your choosing. Follow this link to get to the ones that I bought. Make sure you apply the vinyl onto the middle of your nails, because if they are off to one side the effect won’t look as good.
Next up, apply a peel off base coat or liquid latex around your nails to protect your cuticle area. Wait until it is completely dry before you continue.
With a wet makeup sponge apply the blue and white polish onto the nails. Dab the sponge to your nails as often as necessary to make it even and opaque. You might need to ‘reload’ your sponge multiple times, depending on the polishes you use.
Make sure that you take off the vinyl right after you finish with the dabbing. This will prevent the vinyl to stick to your nail and therefore come off more easily.
Polishes used:
Red: ‘Miami Beet’ by OPI
Blue: ‘Capacity To See Beyond’ by china glaze
White: ‘Alpine Snow’ by OPI

I wish you a wonderful week full of sunshine, happiness and safety.
