Happy Monday,
In todays post I’m gonna show you my black and blue nails! I hope everyone had a lovely easter weekend weather you celebrated or not. We had a sunny and fun weekend, it was great and I really had time to relax.
Before I get to relaxed just thinking about the weekend, let’s get started with this blog post. First off, I painted all my nails black with ‘Night Fright’ from Sally Hansen.
Next up, I applied a coat of Sally Hansens ‘big peel off base coat’ around one side of my nails and across my actual nail. I tried to create a very slight moon shape but unfortunately it kinda was a fail 🙁 But fails make you better because you can learn from them so next time I try something like this I will surely remember these nails.
Next up I chose five different kind of blue/green shades to apply to the half moon space. I will list each nail polish brand and name right below here so you can see which finger has which colour:
Pinkie: essie – garden variety
Ring finger: essie – mint candy apple
Middle finger: Sally Hansen – Mint Sorbet
Index finger: essie – first timer
Unfortunately, I don’t have my thumb in any of the photos and I really can’t remember what polish I used for this nail, sorry! After applying the polish my nails looked like this:
Because I applied the peel of base directly to the black polish it wasn’t that easy to take off. Next time I try something like this I will try to put a top coat onto the black polish first and hopefully that will solve this issue! Anyways, after I took that off they looked really terrible:
After a lot of cleaning, touch ups and a top coat I am kinda happy with how they turned out. It was definitely not at all what I have planned but sometimes that can be a good thing!
Thank you so much for reading this entire black and blue nails post, I know it kinda was a long one 🙂 As always, feel free to leave me feedback and/or suggestions in the comments!
I hope you all are having a sunny and springy week!
xoxo
