Hello cuties 🙂
I hope your week is going great so far! I feel like shit today but at least I have my Valentines Day Nails to look at, they make me feel better immediately 🙂 Like I promised this is the second nail post in one week! It’s called the Valentines Day nail art part 2! I might even do a 3 one, but I’m not quite sure yet, I will definitely keep you posted on my social media!
I stayed pretty much in the same colour scheme as in my last post. Valentines Day just screams PINK doesn’t it? Like I said before I might do some more Valentines Day Nail Art and if I will do more I will also include a non-pink-mani. Just because I know that not everybody likes pink!
Let’s get started with the Valentines Day Nail Art Part 2:
Start off by painting your nails one or two coats of a white colour
Then I used zigzag vinyls from Whatsup Nails that I got from the amazing and lovely Bee. I put three zigzag stripes onto my nails. I tried to keep the same distance between each strip. It only kinda worked 🙂 Then take your favourite pink colour and go over your entire nail. Take the vinyls off right after!
For the gradient: Take a makeup sponge and put the same shade of pink onto it. Then slightly dap it onto your nail, concentrating the most on the bottom! TIP: Start off with very little polish on your sponge, you can always add a second or even third coat but you can’t take any polish off!!
Go over all of your nails with a top coat. Your pinkie and index finger will be done after this step. The top coat should leave your gradient looking smoother!
I added a coat of glitter polish onto my nails because the top coat left some bubbles and I wasn’t happy about that. Sometimes you just have to know how to fix things or else I would have had to start all over again… So keep that in mind, if you ever have small bubbles in your polish (doesn’t have to be the top coat, some “normal” polishes also have bubbles once they’re dry) you can try to hide them with a glitter polish or some nail stickers! You can see the bubbles in this first picture (if you zoom in a little 🙂 )
Now onto the fun part! This is my first time ever that I did something like that. I have seen others do this kind of method on Instagram and thought I would give it a try. All you need to do this is some tape, a top coat and a black pen. Tape a piece of tape onto your table then take the top coat and paint a thin, even coat all over the tape. When that is completely dry, take your pen and write whatever you’d like onto the piece of tape. I went with the word “love” and some hearts to go with the Valentines Day look 🙂 Obviously you can draw or write anything on there, the possibilities are endless!
I would wait for a good amount of time before continuing with the next step. Because now you put a top coat onto the writing / drawing and if the pen is not completely dry it will smudge!! So be prepared to give it a couple of tries!! And again, wait until the coat is dry, then with a tweezer slightly lift the polish off the tape. Now cut the pieces of writing and drawing out, try to be as close as you can! The closer you cut the less visible it will be…
Decide where you want to put what and go over that area with a top coat. Then take the piece of writing and put it on your nail, press it on slighly. Now you can go over your whole nail with the top coat again to make sure it won’t fall off that easily!
I hope you liked this Valentines Day Nail Art Part 2 and might give it a try 🙂 If you do be sure to tag me in your pic so I can see!! Where can you find me to tag me in the pictures?
