Hello
I hope you guys are ready for my thanksgiving nails post from last year? These nails turned out so great and I am so in love with them that I had to re-post this. I saw these nails on the Instagram page of ‘nailsbycambria‘ and decided to recreate them.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving I decided to change out the fox for a turkey so it would match better to thanksgiving.
If you would like to know how I did them just keep on reading. I painted two coats of the ‘brownstone’ polish from NYC as a base.
With a dotting tool make two white dots in the middle of the ring finger with ‘White On’ by Sally Hansen. With a smaller dotting tool create two black dots into the white dots as soon as they’re dry, the black is ‘Black to Black’ from Sally Hansen. For the beak, I used ‘Snappy Sorbet’ from Sally Hansen and a thin brush.
I decided to make the leaves in three different fall shades. These are actually pretty easy to make. When I first saw these I thought that they would be very difficult to make and was slightly worried. But as it turns out they were so easy to make, trust me! All I did was make random leave shapes on the tips of each nails except the ring finger.
The red shade is ‘forever yummy’ from essie and the light shade is ‘Floaties’ from Sally Hansen.
After this is completely dry I outlined the leaves with the same black polish as I used before. This makes the leaves more visible and also looks way better in my opinion.
For the next step I applied a top coat over all the nails. I really enjoy the effect a top coat has on a design. It just makes everything look so much better, cleaner and smoother. Which is very nicely visible with this particular design.
I applied a matte top coat over the design and the effect is amazing. In my opinion, the design looks so much better matte. What do you think? Which one do you prefer?
Thank you so much for reading my thanksgiving nails post and I hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to leave any suggestions or requests you might have in the comments below.
xoxo
Cindy
