and welcome to another nails post. Today, I’m going to show you how I did these purple & pink Valentines Day nails. I already said this in my last post but you can rock these nails even if you do not celebrate Valentines Day. I personally don’t celebrate it but I love to do these types of designs.
To be honest, they are kind of a fail. They definitely did not turn out the way I imagined they would. And at first, I didn’t want to write this blog post but then I figured why not? I don’t want to paint this picture of everything in my life being alright and perfect. Social media now a days gives people the wrong impression of other peoples lives. And I definitely don’t want to add to that illusion. Plus, it’s not like the design itself turned out horribly, it was just my colour choices that weren’t great…
To start, as always, apply a base coat of your choosing. I’m using the ‘Ready for Takeoff’ one from UNT. Apply a dark purple polish onto all of your nails. I used ‘Indiglow’ by Sally Hansen and because the polish is so opaque, I only did one coat each.
Once the are completely dry, go over them with a top coat. I am using the ‘Color Therapy’ one from Sally Hansen. When you peel of the stencil there is a good chance that the base colour will also come off with the stencil. If you apply a top coat first, that won’t happen.
Apply the heartbeat stencils onto your nails. I put the heart rate stencils on my pinkie, middle and index finger. On my ring and thumb I put the heart shaped stencils.
Take a pink polish and go over all of your nails. Don’t forget to remove the stencil right after you are done with applying the polish. I’m using the ‘Get Juiced’ one from Sally Hansen.
To make sure that this design will stay on your nails without chipping, go over with a top coat. I am again using the ‘Color Therapy’ polish from Sally Hansen.
I kinda think that this design looks best in black and white so here you go:
