Hi all 🙂
The fact that it is Monday today means that it’s time for a new mani. Today I’m going to show you how I did these blue & orange shape nails. They were really fun but also very easy to create and they look so cool. At least in my opinion they do!
The blue colour is ‘garden variety’ from essie and with that I painted two coats onto all my nails. After the polish was completely dry I went over all nails with my top coat. You can use which ever top coat works best for you.
For the next step I put scotch tape onto my nails. I wanted to create a different shape on every nail to make the design look more interesting. On my ring finger I put tape on the inner side of my nail and for the index finger I did the complete opposite. I applied the tape for the ring finger diagonally across the nail. The middle finger is the ‘hardest’ one but even this one is very easy to create. I just taped off one half of my nail both vertically and horizontally which should leave only 1/4 of the nail tape-free.
The orange polish is also an essie shade and is called ‘tart deco’ which is like one of my all time favourite shades ever!! Right after I applied the orange polish I removed the tape to make sure the lines are as clean as possible. Next up I applied a top coat to all my nails finishing them all off except the middle finger.
For the middle finger to be complete there are two more steps missing. After the top coat was completely dry I put more tapes on my nail. This time in the reversed way so that the only square not covered in tape is right opposite the already orange square. Then I painted that little square and after waiting a while I put another layer of top coat on. It is really important that the top coat gets put onto the nails every time before you put tape onto it. Sometimes when you go take the tape of your nails it will take some of the polish with it which means there will be loads of clean up to make it look good. With applying a top coat before that step the chances of that happening are very slim to non existing.
That is already the end of this blue & orange shape nails post, I told you it would be an easy one didn’t I? I hope you enjoyed reading it and as always, feel free to leave comments, suggestions or requests down below! Here’s the link to my YouTube video I did on these nails!
Thank you for sticking with me and I wish you all a wonderful, sunny and relaxing week 🙂
xoxo
